Honeybees Wraparound Care

We offer both a Breakfast Club and After School Care Club which provides morning and after school activities for school pupils from Reception up to Year 6, in a safe, happy environment. A snack of toast with a variety of toppings, crumpets, fruit and a selection of fruit juices are available for the children booked on to both the Breakfast session and 4.30pm -5.30pm session of the after school club.
The club is currently managed by Mrs Begum, and supported by a team of staff directly employed by the school. These staff are not teachers but are qualified to work with children and some hold other roles within school during the day.

Please see further details below:

Breakfast Club Sessions

The session starts at 8.00am Monday to Friday and children will be admitted via the main entrance only (Sawtry Close). They will attend until 8.40am when they will then be taken to their classroom by a member of the Honeybees team.

Children will not be accepted into the hall before 8.00am under any circumstances and remain the responsibility of the accompanying adult until this time. Please arrive promptly so that the children can be supervised appropriately.

Times/Cost:

Breakfast sessions are available from 8.00am and children are taken to class in time for their 8:50am start. Please note. Breakfast will only be served between 8.00am and 8.30am.

The cost is £3.25 per day

After School Sessions

The session starts at 3.30pm Monday to Thursday and children can attend until 4.30pm or 5.30pm, depending on the session booked, where they will then be signed out by the parent or representative. A snack of toast with a variety of toppings, crumpets, fruit and a selection of fruit juices are available for the children booked on to the second session.

Times/Cost:

For after school sessions, children are collected from their class by a member of staff and taken to Honeybees.

Monday to Thursday: Session 1 - 3.30pm – 4.30pm: £3.50            Session 2 - 4.30pm – 5.30pm: £4.00
Friday:                        Does not currently run on a Friday afternoon

Children must be collected promptly. Charges will be made for late collection at a cost of £1.50 per 15 minutes, for collection after the booked time of 4.30pm and £3.00 per 15 minutes after 5.30pm. These fees will be charged fortnightly.
Please note. If a child attends an after school activity between 3.30pm and 4.30pm and they normally attend Honeybees until 5.30pm, both Honeybee sessions will need to be booked and paid for to secure their place and prevent it being offered to another family.

Booking and Payment

Parents are required to register for Honeybees Wraparound Care annually, for September, at a cost of £5 per child and must pay for all booked sessions in advance. Places not paid for will be refused.
We encourage parents to book sessions as far in advance as possible, preferably half a term at a time. These places are often in demand so it is essential that we know of any opportunities to offer places to other families through the year.

Places may be booked by emailing honeybees@themeads.primaryluton.co.uk You may also contact the school office, in the first instance. The admin staff will make a note of your call and pass this on to the Honeybees Club Administrator who will then contact you to confirm any details/places. (The school office staff will not be able to confirm places).
